If Initiative #195 passes, the measure will replace Colorado’s flat income tax with a graduated income tax, cut taxes for 97% of Coloradans making less than $500,000 per year, and increase taxes for the 3% making more. Every year, young people from other countries journey to the United States alone, without parents or family to accompany them. They make this dangerous journey in order to escape abuse, violence, and trafficking. Some of these youth are eligible to pursue legal protective status, but they need a safe home and the support of a family while they cope with the uncertainties of the U.S. Immigration System.

You must be appointed before or after the training. Parties that can appoint you and other requirements are part of the beginning of the training linked above.

Our immigrant neighbors are being detained at the ICE Field Office in Centennial, 12445 E. Caley Ave. Check-in appointments and daily raids are wreaking havoc in our friends’ lives.

Court Watch is looking for volunteers daily during the week at the federal immigration court in Denver. They provide our immigrant friends with important information and resources, monitor for ICE presence, and observe in courtrooms.
Many of our immigrant neighbors are now being told when they show up for their hearings that they must go to a third country to apply for asylum. Venezuelans are being told that they must go to Ecuador. Central Americans are being told they can go to Honduras. They come out of their hearings confused and distraught. The presence of Court Watch volunteers matters at so many levels.
Shifts are two hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-3:30 pm with on-site training provided.
